Yazidi are the largest ethnic and religious minority in Armenia. Many Yazidi came to Armenia escaping the religious persecution in the early 20th century. Their tradition are confused sometimes they don't know where it comes from. But there are still people knowing it. There are places where it is possible to find inscription with their alphabet. Near Yerevan there is also a new temple. It was the second in the world but after the destruction of the one in Mosul it become the first one.
Here there is the peacock, one of their symbols for God.
When Yazidi go in the house as first they kiss the matresses they have collected in a part of the room. They are not really able to explain where this tradition come from.
The temple is near Yerevan. It is only a small strcter withe symbol of the sun and inside the altar. Inside the altar they say that there are small sculpture with the sacred animal for every day of the year. It is possible to go in the temple but without shoes and kiss the altar. All the religious cerimony are done in a structure near there that it is more like a house.
